After my last three losing sessions I decided to exercise just a modicum of bankroll control and told myself I wouldn't play $5/$10 and I actually stuck to my goal. I began with a $2/$5 game and ran my $300 (max buy-in is $500) to around $1K in a few hours. Then I moved to a $5/$5 PLO game and lost my winnings back. I also started with $300 and within a few hours built it up to $1,500 when the big pot of my tenure occurred. I had AAxx and called a raise. I flopped top set and rather than reraising I decided this time to just call the $135 or so bet because there was a flush draw and I knew if anyone had a flush draw they were going all the way and I decided for a conservative plan and get active only after a safe turn card. The turn was a blank and a gentleman with bottom set bet out about $500. I reraised to $900 and then all hell broke loose with three people all in before it got to me. I can't fold the best hand given the amount of money already invested never mind that I currently had the best hand. It was a $5K pot and got chopped between two players that both hit their straight on the river. That pot would have wiped out all my losses from the last three sessions combined. Ughhh.
One of the regulars informed me he had a $14K score in the $5/$5 PLO game last weekend. Waiting for my turn. A regular named "Prince" who has tournament winnings listed on Hendon Mob since 1989 is having a $1,500 single table PLO SNG at his house winner take all. I do not plan on attending but it sure would be interesting.
