October Update

Spent an overnight trip to visit Delware Park Casino. We had a coupon for a free night at a Hampton Inn due to our Timeshare visit the last time we were in Las Vegas and decided to use it before it expired. Had a nice time playing primarily small tournaments. I only played two tournaments. In one of them I made the final when in the first hand there was a three way all in with me being the third caller. It is hard to lay down KK when the blinds are crazy high and your effective chip stack is well, not effective any longer. Opponents held AA and QQ. During the tournament I felt I recognized an older lady in the room but it took me a while to remember who she was. She and her husband follow Phil Ivey around during the WSOP main event.
Last weekend I went camping which means I stayed in a KOA cabin in a KOA campground; not quite roughing it but close enough. This weekend before I went back up to Hollywood casino and had a second losing session. This past Saturday I went again and finally picked up a win. My game of choice lately is $5/$5 PLO which they run Saturday afternoon/evenings.
One interesting PLO hand cost me about $500 when I flopped a boat with KQ on a board of KQQ and lost to the only hand I could lose to, KK. The person I gifted the money to was a large guy in his 50's who is called Prince who told me he has been playing poker for a living since 1989. He had some interesting stories to tell and played with all the older known poker pros like Mike Matusow and Stu Ungar back in the day. He believes Mike is currently broke. He said it is not an uncommon occurance for some of the known players to experience high volatility with their bankrolls. He plans to spend some time in November in AC during the Borgata Fall Open which I may as well.
